Privacy Policy
Last Updated: April 30, 2026
1. Introduction
Welcome to PodcastBud. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring that your personal information is handled in a safe and responsible manner. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, and share information when you use our services, including our integrations with social media platforms like LinkedIn, Bluesky, X (formerly Twitter), and YouTube.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information to provide better services to all our users. The types of information we collect include:
- Account Information: When you sign up, we may collect your name, email address, and profile details.
- Content Data: We process podcast audio, transcripts, and metadata you provide to generate marketing content.
- Usage Data: We collect information about how you interact with our platform to improve our features.
- API Data: If you connect social media accounts, we receive information authorized by the platform as described below.
3. Social Media Integrations & API Compliance
PodcastBud integrates with various social media platforms to allow you to publish AI-generated content directly from our platform. By connecting a social media account, you authorize PodcastBud to act on your behalf only for the specific actions described below. You can revoke this access at any time — either from PodcastBud's Settings page or directly from the platform's own security settings.
We store OAuth access tokens and refresh tokens securely to maintain your connection. We do not share these tokens with third parties and only use them to perform actions you explicitly request.
When you connect your LinkedIn account via OAuth, PodcastBud accesses the following information with your permission:
- Profile information — your name, email address, and profile picture, used to display your connected account in PodcastBud.
- Member ID (sub) — used to identify your LinkedIn profile when publishing posts on your behalf.
- Post creation — we publish text posts to your LinkedIn feed only when you explicitly click "Post Now" in PodcastBud.
We do not read your LinkedIn feed, messages, connections, or any other data beyond what is listed above. We adhere to the LinkedIn API Terms of Use. You can revoke access at any time from your LinkedIn Permitted Services page.
Bluesky (AT Protocol)
When you connect your Bluesky account, you provide an App Password (not your main account password) generated in your Bluesky security settings. PodcastBud uses this to:
- Authenticate a session with Bluesky on your behalf.
- Publish posts to your Bluesky feed only when you explicitly click "Post Now" in PodcastBud.
Your App Password is stored encrypted and is never exposed or shared. You can revoke access at any time by deleting the App Password from your Bluesky App Passwords settings.
YouTube (Google)
Our platform uses YouTube API Services. By connecting your YouTube account, you are agreeing to the Google Privacy Policy and the YouTube Terms of Service. We use your YouTube connection to retrieve transcript data, upload podcast episodes and YouTube Shorts, and generate titles and descriptions. You can revoke PodcastBud's access at any time via the Google Security Settings page.
X (Twitter)
When you connect your X account, we access the permissions you authorize to post AI-generated content on your behalf. We adhere to the X Developer Agreement and Policy. You can revoke access from your X Connected Apps settings.
Other Social Platforms
PodcastBud may add integrations with additional platforms (such as Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Threads, and Mastodon) in the future. When such integrations are added, we will update this policy to describe the specific data accessed and actions performed for each platform. In all cases, we will only request the minimum permissions necessary to post content on your behalf, and you will always be able to revoke access.
4. How We Use Information
We use the collected information to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve our services.
- Generate AI-driven social media posts, show notes, and SEO content.
- Publish content to connected social platforms when you explicitly request it.
- Communicate with you regarding updates, support, and marketing.
- Ensure the security and integrity of our platform.
5. Data Sharing & Security
We do not sell your personal data. We only share information with third-party service providers (like hosting and AI processing services) necessary to operate our service, or when required by law. We implement robust security measures to protect your data against unauthorized access.
6. Your Rights & Data Deletion
You have the right to:
- Access or correct your personal information by contacting us at info@podcastbud.com.
- Delete your account and data — contact us and we will remove your account, stored tokens, and associated content within 30 days.
- Disconnect any social platform at any time from PodcastBud Settings → Integration, or directly from the platform's own security settings. Disconnecting removes your stored tokens from our system immediately.
- Opt out of marketing communications by unsubscribing from any email we send.
